Customizable appearance of airspaces

Hello,

I have an idea about a feature I'd like to see in SkyDemon. Let's see what the others think about it.

I bet in every country there are at least some airspaces (danger or restricted areas or TSAs...) that are either active only some days/hours per week or are triggered by a NOTAM.

Why not to allow the user to decide (for sake of clarity and readability of the map) which concrete airspaces to depict on the map and which not? Here I am speaking about a custom decision for instance not to depict a military low-flying corridor that is not active that concrete day. Now, it is only possible either to see the week-days or week-end views. Nothing in between.

Why this feature? For instance in France or Belgium not all the military airspaces are active all at the same time. I'd then "hide" all those that are not active for the time of my flight to have the map unclattered and easier to read.

How to do it? I can imagine for instance a right-click on an airspace (in map or Enroute Features window) and selecting "hide airspace".

Risks and safeguards? Of course there is a risk the user would "hide" an airspace by a mistake. Therefore, I would suggest to make the user confirm his decision and then somewhere (on the map, while going to the printing options, when downloading new weather, on the print-outs...) to display a warning that some airspaces were hidden by the user. A simple click would then allow to unhide all airspaces and to get to the default view.

What do you think? Did I drink too much today or you share my view? Smile

You can already use SkyDemon's map menu to go straight to that website, if you bring up the menu for such a restricted area on iOS or Android. I am not aware of a direct data feed from France we could use to directly show the status of a piece of airspace.
